Here’s a quick intro to my favourite editorial tool, the PerfectIt add-in for Microsoft Word, by Intelligent Editing.
Unlike plain old spellcheck, PerfectIt performs a series of consistency checks to make sure your documents are as sharp as possible. I know dozens of professional editors who use PerfectIt as part of their regular editing routine, and it’s just about the only editorial tool that I’m happy to endorse.
I don't endorse much editorial software, but the PerfectIt add-in for Word is actually brilliant.https://t.co/e6GZ5npqHJ pic.twitter.com/a6Vk24CQpO

The software’s not free, but at $99 it won’t break the bank. (SfEP members get a discount.) As far as I’m concerned, this one’s paid for itself several times over.
