Get to the point

First you watch. Then you chip in. Then you do. This is the pathway from lurking to leading. Be brave and take the steps to become a creator, because creators get all the glory.

In most online user communities, those who create content get the most visibility. Think of anyone you admire in the public sphere. Chances are, they’ll have created something you like. They might be an actor, a musician, a sportsperson or a social activist.

These people gain popularity through the way they create value in the world. We can debate how worthy that value is, but what’s for certain is that, to their followers, those people are creating something worth paying attention to.
