Instead, I jump straight ahead to what it is I do for my clients.<\/strong><\/p>\nI think this leads to a good way of marketing a service business. Instead of saying this:<\/p>\n
My job title is X<\/strong>.<\/div>\n\u2026 you can instead say something like this:<\/p>\n
I help people to Y by doing Z<\/strong>.<\/div>\nIn other words, you talk about the problems you solve<\/strong> and explain how you solve them<\/strong>.<\/p>\nIn my case, I might say something like this:<\/p>\n
I save clients time and reduce their support costs by writing content that explains how their products, services and processes work<\/strong>.<\/div>\nRemember: beware of saying job titles and assuming that others will know what you mean. Examples:<\/p>\n
I’m a copy-editor<\/strong>.

\n\u27a1\ufe0f You sell iPhones? \u274c<\/div>\nI think the best approach is to give people a clear example of what you do and how that helps. Again, in my case it would be this:<\/p>\n
