10 reasons to hire me as your technical copywriter

Hi, I’m John Espirian.

You’re probably reading this because you’re busy and need someone else to write some words for you. Whether it’s technical or non-technical content, that’s no problem: writing’s my thing. Drop me a line and let’s have a chat.

Why pick me over someone else?

The internet’s full of writers, so why pick me? Well, here are 10 reasons why I think I’m the man for the job. Ready?

Reason 1. Number one ranking on Google

Hitting you with the big guns straight away. If you search Google for technical writing services in the UK, my website appears at the top of the organic search results (directly beneath the paid adverts).

Google doesn’t mess around: having a number one ranking is a pretty good sign. (It took me years to get there, by the way.)

Reason 2. Awards

In 2016, Whitefox named me as one of the Unsung Heroes of Publishing. I’m also an Adobe Certified Associate in Dreamweaver, InDesign and Photoshop.

Reason 3. Positions

I’m a director of the Society for Editors and Proofreaders (SfEP). I created and manage the SfEP’s online forums, and I rebuilt the whole SfEP website in 2015 (it now receives around 1.1 million hits per year). Making websites isn’t part of my core service, but writing for the web certainly is.

I’m also a pro member of the Professional Copywriters’ Network (PCN) and the Institute of Scientific and Technical Communicators (ISTC).

Reason 4. Recognition

From 2003 until 2007, I was a Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP). It’s an award that Microsoft give to someone who goes above and beyond to serve a community. In my case, I was helping Apple Mac users of Microsoft Office.

Reason 5. Past clients

I’ve provided freelance writing services for the likes of Virgin Media, Sky and AXA. I even wrote one of the guides for the Sky+ remote control. But I’ve also worked for much smaller organisations and even for private individuals.

Reason 6. Transparency

I hate when people hide their prices. I don’t do that.

Imagine you look for a service provider and can’t see their prices. You’d click away and look for another option, right? I assume that potential clients will have the same view when looking at my website, so I’ve just decided to publish my prices. Doing so has meant I don’t have to deal with so many timewasters, because people can see that I don’t provide a cheap service. I provide a good service.

Take a look at my Pricing page for details.

Reason 7. Responsiveness

Email
I don’t like leaving people waiting for a reply. I’m quick to respond to emails. I always try to respond the same day, and am often able to do so within a couple of hours.

I very rarely run more than two projects at the same time, so if you work with me then you can be sure that you’ll have my attention.

Reason 8. Portfolio

I run an active blog to showcase my writing style, and I also create short, helpful videos. I also create content outside my website – check out my Extra extra page for more.

Reason 9. Dedication

I’m no fly-by-night writer. I’ve been producing content since 1998 and have been freelance since 2009. I don’t try to do a million different things – my main focus is on writing and editing content.

Reason 10. Humanity

I’m friendly and easy to get on with. I care about what I do and I like helping good people to do good work. Find out more on my About page.
